No IAC count!

Ok guys!

I went to my mechanic cause he wants to get into programing and has a 67 camaro with a 327 and wants it TPI, but this is another story.

But he drove the Iroc and was impressed but wanted to see the timing the chip had, it s a TPS Level V chip ( I know and that is why I got the programming stuff). Well it was 20* advanced and I have 8* base set so it is a total of 28*.

But what had us baffled was the the IAC count was at zero!!

So what so you guys think would cause this besides a bad IAC! He said a vacuum leak could cause this and by my track times I think he may be right. So I may get a vacuum gauge and check it out but I wanted to run this by you guys.

Also the EGR is programmed to off if that helps.

The IAC motor has zero'd out trying to bring the engine speed down to the requested idle speed. I'd say it definitely sounds like a vacuum leak unless you had opened up the throttle body blades using the set screw and went too far...
