Ok I got my MSD 6A today. Well I hooked it up and my tach falls on its face at 3,000 rpm under hard acceleration. Summit told me I need to find the tach filter on the car and bypass it. Can anyone tell me where the tach filter is. And whats the easiest way to get to it. Oh yeah what does it look like??? Can someone please help me???? Thank-you I DRAG 2

My tach filter was located on the firewall just behind the distributer. The wire from the negative side of the coil that comes out of the distributer plugs into the filter, the filter is connented to the tach. Its about 1 1/2 inches long and cylinder shaped. Thats where mine was located, I have an 84 Camaro...yours is probably in a similar location.

Make sure that your tach is being driven by the tach output of the MSD box - it should no longer be connected to the coil or the output of the distributor module (2 pin connector).
