How is it done????

I want to totally remove my ECM and wiring harness from a 92 Camaro with tbi and replace it with a carb and HEI. The reason is a swap to a 383 which can't be satisfied with a tbi. How do a wire through the vats and thats about all I need to know. Everything else is basic wiring, but the Chilton is a p.o.s for wiring diagrams. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can't just "wire through" with wires. You need to reprogram the ecm chip to not look for the vats signal. Best to turn to the prom board to learn how to do that.

you cant run tbi on a big motor? i know nothing about tbi f-bods....but the dud i got my motor from raced corvettes and he had a 540ci and it was tbi. there is nothing to do with sbc tbi? that is a shame...i love injected cars. what about a tpi conversion?

Mine runs really good and I have a 383 with a 305 throttle body with 350 injectors, headers dual exhaust and all you can add to a computerized setup and I have lousy 2.73 gears. I have been told that I can get a whole lot more power if I do a change over to a carb (750cfm). Which I am sure is true, otherwise all the big time dragsters and all the pros would run throttle bodies. To me there is just too much to mess with when you are doing mods to a computer controlled car. It just plain sucks! If I had known a year ago what I know now, I'd be done with my car. So I can tell you from experience, YOU DON'T WANT TO DO A MOD THAT DRASTIC WITHOUT CHANGING TO A CARB!!!
