Checked ignition system, now backfires!
I went through the ignition system checking out every part (because i was experiencing a power loss)
anyway, it turned out to be a couple burned wires, so i replaced them, and now the car backfires
the car is getting spark at teh coil, and i tested it at the plug (jsut tried number 2) : my guess is taht the timing is off, because i turned the crank by hand (well, with a ratchet). i cant see why that would cause the timing to be off, but im just shooting in the dark now, and i'm about the take a 20 lb sledgehammer to this damn car
anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
thanks!

Don't take this the wrong way..But are you sure you put the wires back on right?? If you crossed two wire you will get backfire, and it will run like a bag. Check that all out first and go from there.

no, im positive that the wires are in the right places, i even went off of the firing order diagram that i got from another post
no offense taken, but i will double-check the wires right now
also, its not that it backfires and runs like crap, it jsut backfires and won't even turn over (just cranks and backfires)
thanks
