Problem with p/n switch and starting

I'm installing a megashifter at the same time I'm doing my engine swap. The car was previously a manual and now it has an automatic. The wiring harness I have is custom. I have a park/neutral switch and a relay too. The relay is a spdt and is wired as follows:

pin 87 - goes to the starter solenoid
pin 30 - battery power
pin 86 - wired right to pin 87
pin 85 - has two wires, one going to the computer, the other going to the p/n switch.
pin 87a - nothing.

On the other side of the switch I have a ground. The problem I"m having is that it wouldn't crank when I turned the key. Yes the car was in park. I did get it to turn over and start more than once by taking two wires, (I'm not really sure which ones, but it was two of the four by the switch. The other two wires were from the reverse switch). One time I touched two of them together I saw a flash from under the dash, then wouldn't start again and hasn't started since. I blew the 20A backup light fuse, and the relay. Having replaced both those items it will still not crank. I am wondering if I fried a fusible line or what I did wrong so that it won't work correctly now? Sorry for the long post.

What are the colors of the wires that you have going ot each of those terminals?

I partially made my own wiring so the colors don't match but here's how it looks:

pin 87 is blue wire
pin 30 is purple

I am pretty sure those are wired right becaust it worked like that. Is there a fusible link that may have gotten blown somewhere in the cranking circuit, is that possible? I've never looked at a fusible link so I'm not sure what they look like or anything so I couldn't chekc them.

I'm going to rewire it this weekend I think using the yellow and purple wires from my original clutch switch. Also move my ground to a potentially better spot, that may make all the difference. I may have a bad switch too so I'll see if it matters if I bypass that too.

Still I have no response from the relay. If I stick a screwdriver on the starter she fires up and runs fine, no engine light or nothing. But if I try to start the car normally I don't get anything when I turn the key to crank. I rewired the relay as follows:

Pin 30 goes to the yellow wire from the clutch switch
pin 87 goes to the purple wire from the clutch switch, and everything else is the same. I just connected the two wires that go to the p/n switch to simulate that the circuit is closed. I do not know what is wrong, any suggestions?
