Getting a tach to work with aftermarket ignition?

I have an 86 trans am and I'm looking into an MSD, Mallory, or Crane aftermarket ignitions. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with hooking up the stock tach- I really don't want to get an aftermarket one since it'd be a hassle.

Most MSD & Crane ignitions should accept the stock tach wiring connection which is taken from the B (marked on the EST module) input of the EST. The Crane Hi6 actually provides a tacho out wire.

The MSDs have a tach output terminal as well.
