| Re: HOW TO REPLACE Ignition Lock/Keys Cylinder in 88 Camaro? HELP? No, my problem is that the ignition has been broken, can be started with a screw driver or any key lol. The real issue is, the car was loosing all power, so I pulled the connectors that are on top of the column under the dash, all the wires rubbed off onto the metal and were catching a little spark/fire/smoke, so I replaced all the wires and this is what it is doing now:
when you turn the key on, usually the fuel pump goes on etc, right, well this one does nothing, turn the key a mm or so past on and hold it, power comes on, then same with starting, have to get it in the right spot to start, then you have to hold the key past the on position for it to stay running, otherwise, when you let the key go, you loose all power and the car dies. Sorry but I cant drive and hold a key on @ the same time.
Would the ignition cylinder cause this? 88 2.8L camaro |
