Knock Sensor

Is there a way to tell if I have the correct Knock sensor? Is it stamped with a part number or something? Doers it look the same as the 305 KS? I have a 91 RS that had a 350 out of a truck (presumably an L05) put in it. I want to verify that they put the correct knock sensor in it. I'd rather not mess with changing it if I don't need to.

Re: Knock Sensor

I think that you are correct in questioning this point. When a 305 is replaced with a 350, I believe one of the things that need to be done is install a 350 knock sensor. The 305 and 350 knock sensors are different.

Do a search, this is asked many times.

The 305 and 350 knock sensors do need to be changed to the proper motor size when the engine is swapped. However, they physically look the same and I didn't see any real labeling on them to be able to tell the difference.
