hatch release and light
OK, Well I've been searching for about a day now and have not found the answer. I recently pulled my rear plastic to install my rear rockers and when I put it back together I ran into this problem. My hatch will grab and pull down but the light wont go off. If i wait awhile the light will go off, but then hatch wont work. I checked the fuse and it was fine so I put the fuse back in then light came on and same problem. Any Ideas?

Re: hatch release and light
well its a 92 so its actually the rear courtesy light in the cargo area that comes on when hatch is open and when it drops down to close it turns off.

Yours won't have a manual hatch light switch. I think your striker-sensing switch is bad. It turns on the down cycle and shuts off the hatch light. I can supply either a remanufactured 91-92 style pull-down unit or a goo d used striker-sensing switch. My web site is temporarily offline, so you'll need to call me to place an order.
