HEADLIGHT RELAYS?

Hey Guys I was wondering if anyone know the part numbers for the 3 Headlight relays for a 1986 Trans Am. This particular car has the 3 wire headlight motors. 1 isolation relay on the firewall and 2 headlight motor relays one on the left and on the right next to the lights.

Thanks

Re: HEADLIGHT RELAYS?

I thought they went to the solid state controller by 86, but i guess not. the part # for the isolation relay is 10022620. i bought it through gmpartsdirect recently. The other two headlight relays are part # 10031246. I can scan the wiring diagram and troubleshooting from my service manual too if you need it. It took a while to figure it out, but it was very helpful.

Re: HEADLIGHT RELAYS?

Hey Thanks So much. Im going to try and order these tomorrow. I purchased the metal motor gear replacements. But I think the HTS switches in both my motors have gone bad and unfortunally they are discontinued. Just curious tho how did u fix your headlight problem?

Thanks

it turned out that my isolation relay went bad. I highly recommend going through the diagram and troubleshooting with your problem before throwing lots of parts and money at it! I did have one problem with gmpartsdirect though... the first time they sent me the relay the package was marked with the correct part number, but the relay inside was the wrong number (it looked identical). It had me all kinds of confused because i installed it without looking at the number on the part... but i eventually saw it while trying to figure out what was wrong. so be sure to verify the number on the relay before opening the bag!

Re: HEADLIGHT RELAYS?

Jeremy Im a bit confused here. I can only find 2 Relays I looked high and dry for the isolation realy in my car but no luck. I check all my power and ground wires and they are working properly but the motors still dont work. Where did u find your isolation relay? If its still possible could you scan me that diagram this whole thing is very tricky i spent 3 hrs today checking it out.
Thanks again
Tom
