Aux button to control 12v source?
Ok guys. I have a Compustar alarm system in my car. Its a nice system and ive loved it so far. Well the system has two auxiliary inputs that you can control on top of the trunk release. Well how would you wire an aux input to control a 12v accessory on and off. Ok lets say just for an example you wanted to turn on led lights in your car or something. I was going to say make a window go up or down but i dont think that is the same cause that wouldnt be a constant power on off(or would it?). So lets stick with the led light. Say you wanted to press one of the aux buttons and have led lights in your car turn on and stay on until you clicked it again to turn it off. How would you do this? If i remember correctly wouldnt you have to wire some sort of relay to make it a 12+ not a 12-? I read something like that online and now im confused.
Hopefully someone can help. I will provide the model number if that will help.
