Weird Electrical Problems...

Well yesterday I took the steering wheel off and took the column apart to try and see why my windshield wipers didn't work. I saw that the switch was fine, but a wire running from the switch was frayed and completely torn in half. After I soldered it back together and got the column and wheel all put together, I started having lighting issues.
1. Now when you hit the headlight switch, they go up, but after you turn the switch off, the headlight motors do not move at all.
2. The fog lights only work when the high beams are turned on. If you turn the high beams off, the fog lights also turn off.
3. The tail lights and back up lights dont work. The turn signals and brake lights all work fine.
4. The dash lights do not turn on anymore.
5. The tail light fuse blows instantly when you turn the headlights on.
I have no idea what happened, all the fuses are fine (except car alarm fuse) I just bought the car, and it came with an aftermarket stereo and a car alarm already installed. Everything was working fine untill I fixed the wipers.
BTW it's an 89 Trans Am, 350 TPI

Re: Weird Electrical Problems...

Did you unplug the wires on the harness at the base of the steering column? If so, double check and make sure it is not plugged in incorrectly. For several circuits to suddenly go nuts that is the most plausible reason.
