Wiring starter

I havent found an answer for my question though I have searched so I ask it her

Because of my headers I had to buy a mini starter. It only has two places to connect, on for the big wire and on little one. I was told by summit:"

If it's a two terminal connection, the battery connects to the large terminal and the Start wire from the ignition switch attaches to the smaller terminal."

The problem is that I have a three small wires, an one seems to be straight from the battery. I would think that if I would connect all of them to the little connection the starter would alwais be starting.

Can somebody help me out?

Thanks, Jon H. Gudjonsson

Re: Wiring starter

look in a Chilton's Manuel or call chevy,i believe that you should have three wires, two small ones and one big one,big one comes off the battery to the starter ,one of the small wires goes to the key switch and the other goes to the coil on the distributor .all of these are in the stock harness, but look in a manual or call you local library and ask for the reference section and they can look it up for you.many times i have done that and it saved me big time. good luck.

Re: Wiring starter

You have 1 main (large) wire from battery (+) to large connector on starter (+) and 2 smaller ones (maybe) with a black round thing on it (fuseiblelink) those 2 wires goes to the large connector at the starter (same as the large from battery) cause those 2 are main power supply to the fuseterminal inside the car (and also power to the purple turn/on ignition)

I made a diagram below here, what I wrote above is from an 1989 Camaro but it should be similar and/or the same on your car.

There should be 2 black/red ones and 1 purple (small wires) is that correct ?

Correct me if im flying way off someone :-)
