how to wire a kill switch

how to wire a kill switch

can anybody tell me how to wire an ignition kill switch so that the switch needs to be on to start the car?
as a security precaution on an 85 trans am.

If you look down at the starter, there is a purple wire going to the S terminal on the solenoid. That is the wire that actually makes the starter motor do its thing. If you break that circuit anywhere, you will disable the starter motor. It can be found under the dash, at the ignition switch, or, if you have an automatic, if can also be found on the safety switch, that prevents starter engagement with the car in anything except park, or neutral.

But the starter can still be hotwired direct from battery in a auto or push started if stick
Best way is to connect a wire through a switch to ground on the neg side of the coil.This grounds out the coil and even if someone hot wires the coil direct from the battery it will not make a spark.If you splice into the coil wire somewhere in the wiring harness no thief will have enough time to find it

Can you tell me what color wire i should splice into under the dash? Or in the console if applicable?
