spaghetti factory wiring.. 1984 berlinetta

hey guys! I bought a 1984 berlinetta.. i wish i did my home work on the car and looked around in it before i bought it so quickly but for a running car only $750 i can afford to fix a few extra things.. but still like to keep costs down as much as possible! well the biggest problem is in the engine bay and even in the cab at the fuse box wires are pulled or spiced micky mouse must have bought a spaghetti factory and trough a dish my car and that mess resembles the wiring... like i have a wire that was cut in half they'er idea to fix it was by using little clamp ends with spring on both ends of a 3' wire to fix the connection and thats the wire that turns the engine over like who does that! .. well i bought this car with the plan to turn it into a street/strip car i want to have it doing 11sec in the 1/4 mile but be able to drive good on the road.. i also want it to look nice! but looks dont mean anything when i know whats lerking behind the dash!! so i dismantled everything the dash as you know the top part comes off well the corner edge driver side was banged and broken i want to re think the entire look of the car meaning new style dash and new tacs i hate the original look! so my question is what dashs will fit from other camaros and what year?? also im re wiring my entire car!! so where would i go to get a complete new kit for my entire car... i mean fuse panel wires running to the head lights and tail lights and everything between.. thanks for reading and hope to hear from you!!

Berlinettas are in a league of their own. Most of the parts you are replacing are specific to them. Whatever donor car you pull from, grab the dash harness and if possible, the engine harness. The console and column also need to be swapped

If you want to swap a "regular" Camaro dash and remove all the Berlinetta stuff then be prepared - it is NOT a quick or easy project. Just about everything in the interior will need to come out and much of it will need to be replaced. This includes the Center Console, Dash Housing/wiring, Steering Column, and entire Heating / AC system. ( Internal and external heater box is OK - but the Heater wiring harness needs to be swapped. ) You can still use your original engine bay harness but will need to splice the wiper system because those wires will not match up at C100.

Your BEST OPTION for a conversion is to get a complete donor car from 84-86 as they will be the most compatable with your 84 Berlinetta. If you prefer the 90-92 style interior you will need to cut or drill out the dash housing support brackets from each side and install the 90-92 version.

Removing it is not a problem :P i already gutted the car in two days i striped it down to the fire wall and removed the entire a/c system.. i will replace the heating core they are cheap when you do it your self!! the shops charge an arm and a leg i got a quote of $800 for my 98' dodge dakota i did it with a friend paying him some money buying pizza and beer and spending about 5 hours and buying the heating core replacment was around $200 but i have it all out and the heating core on ebay i think it like $20 lmao! but as for making a total new look to the interior if i find the dash i like from a select year.. will it fit as if it were stock?? beside the possibility of having to cut out the dash housing support brackets and replace them thats probably the hardest part... i found a great web site that will build me an entire wiring harness for the entire car all i have to do is pick what items are staying and what new things im replacing or adding and they'll build a kit from wiring head lights to rear lights and everything in between for like 800+ i think its well worth the money ! and they do wiring for performance parts such as bigger alternators and more powerful ignitions

http://www.ronfrancis.com/prodinfo.asp?number=XP-66

And they emailed me back saying it would be about $500 what a great deal!!

Re: spaghetti factory wiring.. 1984 berlinetta

Itll be easier to swap in the donor harnesses than to figure out a way to mount that setup

I figured that.. but i really hate that digital tac's i want them to be mounted or something just not how it is and i dont care for the looks of the dash to be honest im doing the wiring to the entire car and im going to get it through http://www.ronfrancis.com/ i like the clean easy setups and im willing to pay more for it so its right and clean! but im changing the dash really just for cosmetics and personal preference
