How to wire up a tach?

The factory tach on my Camaro is eratic and way off. How would I wire up an aftermarket one? I have never done this before and I dont know what wire to tap into on my coil. My Camaro is a 1988 305 TBI if that helps.

Re: How to wire up a tach?

should be a white wire going from the tach to the coil. and there should be a black wire with a white stripe going to a ground. and there should be a pink wire with a black stripe going from the tach to the fuse panel.
