Headlight's Always On

My 1991 Camaro's headlight's are always on, daytime or night time. As soon as i turn the key on the headlight's come on, doesnt matter if it's just the lows on, lows and fog's or hi beam's, they'll come on and stay on during the day.
What can i do to have the headlight's work as they should and be off completely during the day and be able to manually turn them on and off with the switch?
I had pulled the DRL fuse and no light's worked at all, so i cant do that than.

You didn’t say if you bot it with that problem, also you didn’t say when you actuate the Pull-For-On headlight switch if they got brighter.

Anyway if you bot it that way some scared to drive in the daytime without headlights type might have meddled with the wiring.

Did you buy it with that problem?

Re: Headlight's Always On

Sorry, i did buy it with the headlight problem not knowing it at the time as the car had no engine or transmission. Also, if i pull the headlight switch the headlight's dont get any brighter, nothing actually happens when i pull it besides the headlights staying on after i shut the car off.

OK with the key in the OFF position, the Pull-For-On headlight switch in the OFF position, apply the parking brake.

Now turn the key to the RUN position.

Does the
BRAKE indicator on the dash come on?

Do the headlights automatically come on?

Did it, brake indicator on the dash comes on and the headlights do not turn on by themselves. They only turn on with the switch pulled on, but as soon as the parjking brake is off the lights come on even with the headlight switch pushed in again.

OK Boreen here’s how to fix the problem.

Gain access to the DRL Module located behind the extreme left side of the dash.

It looks like a flattish but large relay.

It has two connectors going to it.

Disconnect
purple wire going to pin E.

Tape the end of the
purple wire at the harness so it touch anything and tuck it away.

Then ground pin E.

Now the lights won’t come on unless you pull the headlight switch!

Now remember, once you turn on the headlights, they will stay on even if you push in the Pull-For-On headlight switch.

To shut them off you must turn the ignition OFF.

There is a remedy for the above sentence if you like making modifications however just following the previous instructions will be the fastest Pit Stop for the problem.

Re: Headlight's Always On

I might have to do that, thanks for the help, but how could i make it work like normal, so i have no DRL at all and i could also turn off the headlights with the switch while the vehicle is running?

You can remove the DRL module, then splice the light blue wires that went to connector pins B&E, then splice the dark blue wires that went to connector pins C&G, then splice the orange wire and the brown wire that went to connector pins A&H, then splice the red wire with a white stripe, and the yellow wire that went to connector pins D&F, then splice the tan wire with a white white stripe, and purple wire that went to connector pins D&E.

The reason the letter E was repeated is due to the fact there are 2 connectors on the module so also follow the COLORS.

Re: Headlight's Always On

Do you have a picture of where exactly this Module is? I am thinking it is behind the kick panel beside the fuse box?
