Passenger side signal doesn't flash

Car: 1988 Camaro IROC-Z
Engine: 350 TPI
Passenger side signal doesn't flash
For some reason, my passenger side turn signal doesn't flash any more.
It's part of the annual inspection here in the UK that the signal must flash, rather than just illuminate.
So, any ideas?
Something shorting out?
I have no clue where to start looking.

Tryu replacing bulbs on that side, both front, rear, and side markers (side markers flash as well) - usually a non-flashing on one side means a bad bulb on that side.

Just been to check, and they're all working. They're just on.
Bad flasher unit I guess?

Got it flashing again, tried the hazards, and this seemed to breathe life back into it.
There's a video here if you can shed any thoughts on it.
The hazards seemed to be speeding up and slowing down as well - not a regular pulse at all.

Went over the circuit diagrams in the Haynes book of lies.
With some head scratching and some input from my father (who knows a bit about electrics) he reckons it's probably a high resistance joint somewhere in the turn signal switch?
Make sense to anyone?
