Digital Dash normal light output level/brightness??

I have a GTA Digital Dash system that I installed in my 1989 Formula 350. All readouts works great from my swap but I have only one question. What is the normal brightness of this dash? When the headlight/parking lights are off, the digital readouts on the dash all show up somewhat dim. When the headlights/parking lights are on, the digital readouts show up brighter. I know the background illumination (that is dimmer switch controlled) brighten up the screens itself but my inquiry is of the digital readouts itself. Are the readouts suppose to be dimmer (when switch is off) and brighter (when switch is on) or is it backwards (since viewing the digital readouts in daytime is a challenge. Let me know what is the normal brightness for these dashes.

Thanks, Steve

Some digital gauges I've seen are bright when the headlights are off and the gauges dim when you turn your headlights on.

Re: Digital Dash normal light output level/brightness??

I am about to buy a stock GTA with the cluster. I'll let you know. These gauges are something I wanted in High School, but I bought an IROC instead. Digital gauges shoudl be much brighter in daylihgt without the headlights on. Now, I am much older than I was in 1988 and I am used to my Grand Prix GTP and GXP being rather accomodating for gauge briteness...so we'll find out how good the 40+ year old memory is...

So to confirm...as I just picked up my car finally...

dash lights are brighter when the lights are off just like every other digital dash...tehy dim slightly when the lights are on, and then are controlled by the dimmer switch...but never go completely dark.
