CFI to Carb help

The car is an 82 indy pace car, put in a 350, and now want to replace the CFI with a carb. I've got the CFI stuff off the car, and the 4bbl intake installed, carb is still in the box. The big question is, all the computer stuff can go, right? The ECM, the harness, ect...? I believe I need to replace the HEI with a non-computer controlled one?? I pulled the whole harness out of the engine compartment, clear back to ECM, now should I buy a different harness, or what should I do to get the thing rewired? It has a 700r4 tranny, how do I wire that up so the converter will lock up??? Many questions, could really use some help.

Thank you in advance!!

No need to remove the harness, just clip and tape the stuff you don't use. You do need a vaccum advance HEI

Re: CFI to Carb help

Thanks, that's a start! Will the ECM be doing anything or can I remove it altogether? Just wondering if the 700r4 lockup is tied to that? As far as the in tank fuel pump, do I need to do something there, regulator, different pump????

Re: CFI to Carb help

you can keep the stock pump, but youl need a fuel pressure regulator. there is a tech article on the site that is step by step for swapping from EFI to carb
