I知 in the middle of a swap to carb and need a source for the electronic choke ....I found this connector has voltage when the ignition is on ...anyone know what it connected too? I知 guessing the cruise control because that痴 where it痴 located but I removed it ....good source for the choke? car was a 91 RS ...thanks!

I figured it out ...it痴 for the evap....but the question remains, is it a good source for the choke ?

So you already know it has key on power , that's the first of three things you need to know to determine if it's a good power source for your electrically heated choke . Yes , it's +12V when you have the key on , BUT ! what you now need to know is , how much current (Amps) can that wire safely deliver , AND , how much current does your electric choke require ? Say for instance the wire is good for 10 amps and the choke only needs 5 to operate , your choke would work fine . But , say for instance the wire is only good for 5 amps and the choke needs 10 , huge fail and blown fuses or melted wires will be the result . The answer to how many amps the wire can deliver VS how many amps the choke requires will determine whether it's a good candidate or not ....

Probably not good enough for the choke. The emissions controls are fed from the gauges circuit in the later cars, only 10 amp. With the gauges and the other things attached to the circuit the choke wire will probably be too much.

Thanks guys....I知 just gonna run a line from the fuse box...was trying to avoid it because I知 running out of slots in it
