The ostrich comes with everything needed to program. And yes it will work with older tpi cars. There are tons of instructions on this very website or you can go to moates.net.

i'm probably in a grumpy mood right now, but when i see this for some reason it pisses me off when someone says add 3% for paypal, sure paypal's fee's suck but dont accept paypal if your going to ask for they're fee's, #1 it's against paypal's rules to charge the seller the fee, #2 your accepting it because it's easier for you and you get the money quicker. my vent of the day...
I was unaware that it was against the rules. I mean what if he just added 3% to his asking price so he gets his 150? I agree it's silly to say "add 3%" instead of doing so himself.

Is that a tuner or an eprom burner? I'm just getting into a TPI install (just finished last night) and am in the market for a burner and eraser...I don't know much about this stuff yet.
This would be an emulator. It connects to your computer but replaces it. You can do real time tuning, no need to keep burning chips. So whatever tune you load into it is what the computer will run off of. You can go to moates.net to find out real detailed information about it. But that's it in a nutshell

The emulator, has a program in it and it stays installed in the car like a piggy back system? Is that correct?
No, the emulator is more specifically an EPROM Emulator. There is a cable that plugs into the ECM in place of the EPROM (Will need a moates G1 adaptor to make this easy). Yoiu then upload the bin to the emulator, to have the ECM see and use the bin you want to test.
The really nice part about the emulator is that you can make changes while the engine is running, or even driving down the street (passenger for tuning or other driver recommended). The ability to tune in real time saves so much time and you can see your changes immediatly.
Do you still have emulator if so will it work on speed density system???
Also once you find desired setting for you car do you just disconnect the cable to pc or what??? New to all of this so please enlighten me.
Yes I still have it and yes it will work on a speed density, you just need to load the right bin and xdf files which you can get off of moates.net, just load up the bin tune it to how you want it and then disconnect from the emulator.
I was the same way and I still have alot to learn but the guys on this sight know so much and are always willing to help. And if you go slow and pay attention to what your car is doing you should be fine. But I would suggest reading up on some of the articles they have on this sight to get more comfortable with it. Gotta start somewhere!

i was thinking the same thing - anyone know if he is OK or even what unit he is in. if we had that and/or his name i could find out how he is doing - got lots of family there - they crossed into iraq from day one and since that time there has always been at least one there. they are all hero's.
