Built 200 4R transmission, billet internals+++
I'm looking to make more of a street car out of my drag car.
I have a 200 4r in my 68 firebird. It was built with all billet internals, billet shift servo, kevlar clutches and bands, tci full manual reverse pattern valve body, and a vigilante 4200 stall lockup converter.
It was freshened up about 3k miles ago and has no dragstrip passes on it. All street miles and a couple summer nats burnouts.
I was assured from everyone that I ordered parts from that this trans is capable of withstanding 1,000hp no problems. I had it behind my 600 hp 455 with no issues.
Blew the bottom end of my motor this year and am looking to do an LS1/T56 swap. I want more of a fun driver now that I have a family. Looking to get $2,300 ob. New cost for converter and trans build was over 4g.
Feel free to make serious offers, I need this to go. I no longer have a use for it.
Also willing to work out trades for parts. Let me know what you have!!!

Re: Built 200 4R transmission, billet internals+++
One of my fathers friends in New Hampshire. He's been building trannies for nearly thirty years and has a very good reputation locally, with everything from 9 second drag cars to circle track, to mud boggers.
So, there is no build sheet. I bought all of the parts from I believe it was Century transmission out of Texas.
Any other questions feel free to ask. I really need this gone.

Well, I just bought a TH200-4R that was suppose to be an Art Carr built by one of his best certified dealers. It arrive the other day not painted (his are painted black) and with a stock servo (his are improved billet). I haven't pulled any covers as I don't want to know the truth just yet. If I got taken for $1500 I will be very interested in yours. But I want more documentation. I hope you understand.

One of the best servos for the 200r4 is a sevro from the th200 3 speed trans. They are just as good as most aftermarket billets pieces. I know a few things about 200r4 as ive built mine that i just sold awhile back. I only got a few passes on it before the motor went south. On 7 cylinders(#6 had 90% leakage) it went 10.51@137mph.

No, I can completely understand that. Are you local at all? I'd be perfectly willing to take it to a local shop for inspection if you like. Beyond that I'm not sure what else to offer except for my word. If you can think of anything else you would want to do for piece of mind I'm all ears. I picked up my T56 today and this needs to go lol.
FWIW, you seem like a decent honest guy to me.

Re: Built 200 4R transmission, billet internals+++
I can most likely dig up the parts reciepts (I've moved twice since I built it but I believe I know where they wound up lol) and/or I'd be willing to take it somewhere and have it torn open and inspected.
Whatever would give you piece of mind and help make the sale. I have nothing to hide and just don't want to be tripping over it. I have T56's for both of my project cars and have no use for it anymore

Bump for a good seller. This guy is as honest as they come. I would have bought the tranny myself if I had the cash.

Re: Built 200 4R transmission, billet internals+++
As far as fitment I know Spohn offers a conversion crossmember. As for the driveshaft I know I reused the shaft I had in my car when it had a th350, not 100% if the shaft in yours would be the same or not. As for converters, it all depends on which input your 700 has, some are the same, some aren't. Worst case this will include a 4,200 stall vigilante lock up converter.
All in all this one is very well built, I spared no expense at the time and the only reason I'm selling it is because I'm going to a stick. Otherwise I'd keep it.
I'm In Rutland mass so I'm not too far away. I'm also qilling to go for a ride if it helps make a sale so if you're interested let's talk
