L98 block and heads 88GTA
Terre Haute Indiana
email tex@fire-eater.net
Pick up only for block and heads want you to inspect b4 you buy.
Make me an offer come and get it.
I had 700 dollars worth of machine work done to this block and heads a couple of years ago and I am never going to build this engine. I had it magnafluxed. had it bored .030 over, line bore, decked, new cam bearings installed. hd the heads modified for 2.2 and 1.6 valves, and valve seats machined for comp cams valve springs part no 986-16 recommended for the cam(08-423-8) I never started the pocket porting though. I dont kn ow how much was taken off the head and deck, but my machinist said would be 10:1 with flat top pistons.
I coated the block and heads with lucas to protect from rust but there is some light surface rust. I think it will clean up fine.
Other parts I have flat top
hypereutectic pistons
Forged rods
Cam
Springs
Stainless valves
Polished 52mm throttle body
original throttle body
chrome high cap oil pan
melling high vol pump
aluminum ball milled valve covers
new unpainted steel valve covers
etc

Will you seperate the block and heads? I only need the heads. And how much are you looking for?
The pistons, are they standard bore?
I'm located over in Portage

I will separate, pistons are .030 over like the block. youknow the heads are modified right? do you need the valves or springs that fit it?

Re: L98 block and heads 88GTA
First, I need to correct the typo intake valves are enlarged to 2.02 not 2.2 so I understand if you are no longer interested. would take 180 for the heads. 80 for the new stainless valves. I dont care if you buy my springs as log as you understand that these heads are modified for these springs and the stockers may not work would take 80 for the springs and retainers and other spring hardware if i can find other hardware caps and such. I could ship the heads if someone pays actual cost and they are heavy.

Interested in the block, pistons, rods, heads and valves.
What brand and part number for the pistons and rods?
Price for all, I can meet. I'm about 3 hours away in the same state.

Re: L98 block and heads 88GTA
I will try to get that info for you but will probably be thursday night. I work 12 hr nights and go to class during the day. The pistons came in a plain white box and the rods came bundled in plain packaging. I will look for markings though. I I also have piston rings and bearings I think are sealed power. will let you know if you have a little patience. Thanks in advance

I'm in no hurry, but definatly in the market for said items. Let me know what you find.
Are the pisons installed on the rods already? Did the machine shop bore the block to match the pistons?
Do you have a crank?
