In that case they ask yall to work in out in a partial refund or send it back for a full refund and they give you like 30 days to try and resolve it before they do it and even if the funds are not in there account paypal will put their account in the negative and give you a full refund if you send it back and provide tracking #

The seller loses exactly what you said, a sale (money instead of parts he doesn't want/need) because he is wAiting on the buyer to decided if he wants it still. Why should he wait on a buyer to decide if he wants it or not when he has someone else willing to pay already? He shouldn't, that's not being unfair, that's business. Like I said, cash talks!

And "trust you'll send the money" = trusting the buyers word "yes I promise I'll pay as long as I like what I see in the pics"

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Understand the fuss about a secure transaction but the guy said he only takes money order. If you don't want to pay that way then move on. Reminds me of when a guy sells his car and everyone jumps in the thread to tell him it's not worth his asking price. Every moderator will explain if you don't want to buy it then don't post about how it's too much. I admit PayPal is best and all i do but some people still don't do it. I paid $1750 through a money order because the PayPal fees, he was covering shipping and offering a good deal. Yes I know could have sent as gift. I talked to the guy and felt like he was the real deal. Bottom line this was a great deal and the seller said no Paypal so no need to convince him to get it. Understand there are scams all the time but if you do research and talk with the individual you can weed the losers out from the good guys.

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Are you familiar with Ted Bundy? He was a very charming and convincing person to talk to according to all who knew him. Also a serial killer using those qualities to lure unsuspecting women to their inevitable demise. A little extreme of a comparison, but just a point. You can not trust someone based on a few PMs or phone conversations. Scammers can also be very convincing. A trusting person is usually taken advantage of.

Bottom line

if you do research and talk with the individual you can weed the losers out from the good guys.
Bottom line is there were a lot of guys interested in buyin this, but the seller would provide no communication/information/assurance that he was legit. (and still hasn't)

The price was more than fair as far as I could tell.
The pic wasn't bad, (once we the potential buyers dug it up and reposted it so it could be seen).

I would bet there will be no buyer posting that he received the intake, there won't be any buyer/seller feedback.

No you did not post a pic in this thread. That is an outright lie.

Man, this thread really illustrates the difference between Vette guys and Camaro guys. The guys over at the Corvette Forum are so much more helpful and less antagonistic to each other than the people on here. Sad.

I had no problem with communications. I pmed the seller and he responded saying that no-one had VERIFIED they wanted it. I then verified that I would buy it using a money order if it was still available. The seller responded the next day with his name and address to which I committed to sending him the money. That was easy! I did receive the Stealth Ram today via USPS and it is as pictured (very nice). So, no scam, no dirty dealings and no problems. Now that I have verified that I did get the Stealth Ram, I have a question. What happens in a C.O.D. transaction if the buyer refuses the package? Anybody? Anybody? I'll give you a hint, the shipper pays shipping BOTH ways if he wants his package back. How is that secure for the seller? Sorry, that was two questions.

Re: Vortec Holley Stealthram

Glad it worked out for the two of you. Can we put this thread to rest now? One last thing on seller security and money orders. There has been a rash of counterfeit money orders. Scenario:Seller does all he can is his power to be safe. Has the money order sent first. Receives it, sends the part. He cashes it at his bank, goes through all is good. Week or so later the bank discovers the counterfeit. Who is out the money? The person cashing the money order is charged against his account. What have we learned from all of this? PAYPAL is still the safest method of transactions for BOTH parties. I won't buy without it online and it is paid by a credit card that has it's own fraud protection. Double covered.

No arguments here. PayPal is a very safe and secure way to do on-line transactions, but if the seller wants a money order, what can you do. This thread illustrates the pitfalls of on-line transactions for both the seller and the buyer. Bottom line, as someone posted before, do your homework and check seller feedback if possible.
