Motor Swap Problems

Well after fixing all the little installation issues that come with the SDPC 350 Vortec I actually got it fired up tonight. The car ran fine and the tranny had no issues before I swapped the engines. I swapped because I blew the stock 350. Anyway, the engine runs, but will not idle. I gave it 10 advance timing. The unit has all stock emissions installed (includes air conditioning) and no changes made from stock on the computer. The engine has headers and Borla cat back. Stock intake and runners remain for upgrades next year. It has hypertech's cooling switch and 160 degree thermostat. New knock sensor and coolant temp switch. Adjustable fuel pres reg set at 42 with 24 lb injectors. I made no changes to the tv cable.

Now, like I said the engine will not idle, sounds strong between 2-3k rpm. I was not able to set the TPS to correct voltage, and I was not able to fine tune the timing since it would not idle (take foot off accelerator and it dies). When I put it into gear, it will not move, much. The tranny has a new torque converter (I put fluid in it before install and the tranny has fluid). When it finally did move (started by going downhill) it did not shift gears.

Anybody got ideas what I did wrong or what can be fixed? I also posted in electrical that I have a two prong wire that is not connected, don't know what if anything it goes to. Any ideas?

Check for vacuum leaks first.

If you have a Vortec motor, your stock TPOI lower's ports don't coincide eith the ports in the heads; you could have vacuum leaks all around the ports.

Car: Guess
Engine: Crazy 8
Transmission: So close to being a manual I can taste it
Are you sure you installed the torque converter correctly? I only mention this because you say it did not move when put in gear and then to get the car rolling you went down hill. The TC needs to be completley seated into the trans or bad things can happen fast.
I agree to check for vacuum leaks. THe upper plenum has 4 or so vacuum ports check em all.
I would pull out a shop manual and track down that connector that is missing a home. Unless it is for the AC it probably needs to be connected.
