Going Faster But How!

well guys i just found out some great news i should be getting about 2800 bucks in rewards from a grant and loan i got for college. Well i was wondering what i should do with it and the main thing i want is a new motorin my 89 l98. It has about 120k but it has a new rear going on this weekend and sfcs. Also the worked trans. So my next goal is the motor. But i have been so undecided. I want a motor that could hit low 13s or the highest possible 12s. (yes i know i have a stealth ram in the works before the motor.)I dont know whether i should get my 120k motor rebuilt and have the heads worked on them and maybe zz9 or zz409 cam. Or go with the 350ho(prolly not cuz of the vortecs) So my question is can i get some good suggestions. I have no idea how to do heads or cam so i would have to have that done so thats another reason. Is there anyway of doing this and staying at 2500k. Thanks

If you are going to rebuild your 350 to safely and dependably run 12's it will cost too much if you can't do any of it yourself. You can get a 383 horse non-votec for well under 2500 and you could get some money back by selling your old engine.

were can u find a 383 non-vortec for that cheap? I just found a deal at the local shop and they said they will do a rebuild for 2100 and make it a 355ci. it will have a 3 year warranty and is gaurentted to put out about 270 to 280 rwhp.(with the right intake of course). I was jsut wondering how hard is it for an amatuer to pull a motro from a car. i have experience with the tpi intake but thats it
