Vortec Tpi Guys Inside! Need Help Quick
I just heard ack from SDPC and they say that the VORTEC TPI intake is not setup for a CSI (cold start injector) ...I have the CSI. Now I have no choice but to get that intake cause my vortecs are already bolted on...Now U guys with the SDPC vortec intake on your car...did u get around the CSI some how. I'm not sure if the L98's came with the CSI or not...but Is there anyone who had the CSI work on their intake? Can I have my PROM burnt to not reconize the CSI and just plug the CSI's inlet on the fuel rail...Please help me out u guys, I want to have this intake ordered on thursday.

You need to run a PROM from a 1989 model. 1989 was the only year TPI to still use a MAF sensor, but not use a cold start injector. If you remove your cold start injector and don't change your PROM it's not a major problem, but the car will run a bit rough until it warms up on cold days.

I'm havin a custom prom burnt, so is there a need to get the 89 PROM...I'm dumb when it comes to this stuff. Also the car will never see a winter day. Is there a way It can be blocked off from the fuel rail?

As far as how to plug the fuel rail I can't help you. My buddy John took care of it, and I don't remember what exactly he did, sorry. I'd go look for ya, but I recently moved and the car is stored at a friends house in another state at the moment. It should'nt be that difficult though.

you can take off the hard line going to the CSI and just plug it.I got my runners welded shut since it has the CSI.That and the PROM is all you have to worry about

If you do use an '89 program, be sure that the VATS is disabled. I am not sure if it would cause any problems but there is no need to find out if it would.
