LT1 into my 91
Few questions:
For the time being I have top use my WC T-5. Will the flywheel from the LT1 work fine with my T-5? I just got a new McLeod clutch, it's a nice piece, will it bolt onto the flywheel of the LT1? The engine is froim a 95 caprice. Also, being a 5 speed, the harness is probably missing a couple things for the tranny, any tips? Now this next part should probably go on the "Wiring for dummies" section, but since i'm posting here, i'll include it. The harness I have was cut off the car at the firewall. I went to the donor car and ripped the hardshells out from under the dash. I'm now it the process of splicing them back together. For the most part I was able to match up the wires, but all the heavy gauge wires (mostly red) for the fuses and what not I can't get back together right. I'm looking for similarities in the way they were cut so i get the right wires back together, not working. The problem is when I trace the wires back into the harness, they all go to that power distribution box, some go to relays and big fuses, others get direct power. What do you suggest I do here, If I hook em up wrong, I would think things won't work right.
Also, which wires will get me the resistance for the vats. I would like to keep the vats if possible, but I need to get the correct chip for my key.
P.S. Engine is going in the 91 RS.
Thanks, Matt

Car: 89 GTA
Engine: 350 LT1
Transmission: T56
my 89 TA had the borg warner T5 , I used the 89 flywheel, clutch & transmission.. no prob.
as for wiring.. if you search around.. you'll find lots of wiring pics. I did not need to use the fuse box on mine.. although you can if you can find a spot for it. personally i'd forget it.. work with getting the wiring for the engine.. then connect what is left over from the 91, like gauges and vats..and AC ..
as for wiring the transmission.. mine only had a VSS (purple and yellow wires) GND and Signal (not sure which is which).. and backup lights. so dunno..

make sure when you attach the t5 to the lt1 that you put in a pilot bearing. i almost forgot mine. but like thirim said it will bolt up together. as far as the wires go there are quite a few post here. i got a lot of help from these guys with pics wiring etc. as far as the tranny i'm still working on it i got the yellow and purple connected but speedo doesn't work still. so missing something some where.

if its the t5, you have to use the buffer box, if its the t56 you need the sgi-5 .. actually need sgi-5 for either.. just haven't figured out how to do it yet with t5
