Thinking of doing an LT1 swap
hey guys i have a 1988 camaro 305 TBI (L03) and im seriously thinking about doing an LT1 swap, how much exactly would it cost for me to do the whole swap, like everything i need? If i dont have to replace the transmission i dont want to, i have the stock automatic in it now.

It is impossible to say 'exactly' how much it will cost. Do yourself some legwork and see how much you can get the complete motor for locally and you can go from there.

It is almost impossilbe to predict how much a swap will cost as there are to many variables involved from how much you can get the engine for to how complete an engine you can get.
The best way is to do your own reserech and see how much you can get the engine and part for. I can tell you it usually costs more that what you plan as unforseen things always seem to pop up.

I can tell you what I have tied up in mine so far, but like it's been said, there are alot of variables.
1995 LT1/T56 with PCM, Pedals, clutch master cyl/slave cyl, all accessories, radiator/fan setup = $2700
Hedman 1 5/8 headers with 3" collectors = $180
Hedman y-pipe mated to the headers = $100
new gasket set (the intakes will pretty much keep a leak going from what I've been told by people in the car group who have LT1's) = $90
Dash/wiring from a 90-92 Trans Am to have a electronic speedo = $200
Walbro 255lph fuel pump (which you will have to swap to either a TPI pump or this one, I opted to go with this setup so I don't have to worry about swapping it later if I build the motor) = $150
so I have around $3500 in my swap and that's not including custom fuel lines, and powersteering lines either which will probably add a couple more hundred on it.
