It's a decent engine. To work with your 5-speed, you don't need anything special. Replacement clutch parts, basically, including a pilot bearing (which the engine won't have).

The water pump won't work with your current belt set-up, and you won't need the flexplate (sell them on eBay). I wouldn't use that carb with a manual tranny, but that doesn't mean it won't "work" - a mechanical secondary carb would just work better.

If it was me, I wouldn't get the "Deluxe" package, but would get the base crate and add the Vortec intake manifold, distributor, & damper, then get a 650 CFM mechanical secondary carb to top it off. Your current flywheel will fit it.

JamesC has the Deluxe (I believe) with an auto. I don't recall anyone off hand that has one with a T5 behind it. Perhaps someone will speak up.

Because he's a sh*t stirring idiot would be my guess.Do a search on him,all your answers will be found.

As far as the 330HO,it's the best bang for the buck I've ever seen in a crate engine.I just installed one in a customer's K5 blazer, mainly a trail rig,and was very impressed with the torque and response.I'm with Fiveseven on the doublepumper, with a manual tranny,in this light of a car it would be a lot more responsive and fun to drive.

How to keep a T5 alive behind a powerful engine:

1) No clutch dumps.

2) No speed shifting.

For #2, vacuum secondaries really stink. Hence, the MS recommendation.
