For those of you that have done the v6-v8 swap

Well i started to disassemble my v6 (check the v6 board for parts for sale) and I'm starting to remove the wiring. I have a 92 camaro rs that had the 3.1L and I will be swapping a 350 w/ a carb and w/o a computer. I am labeling the wiring so I can reference later. But my question is what do i keep to use the stock gauges. Senders, etc. Will The VSS get messed up when i switch to a carb v8 w/o a computer? Any way to bypass this and just be off maybe by like 5mph? I have a tranny without a speedocable suppositivily off of an older Z. Because of this will i not be able to use cruise? Now the swap is starting to get confusing.

P.S. at all costs i really would like to keep the "half moon" gauges

Use the same wiring for the gages that the V6 used. You may have to change the wire lengths or reterminate them. The oil pressure sender should be of the same PSI range as your V6 gage. You will need a V8 tachometer.

Speedo, cruise should work if you use a tranny mounted VSS and don't mess with the VSS module.

so should i just strip the wiring for the MAP sensor, Injectors, (emisson and fuel injected stuff.) and just leave the computer alone?
i could always take out the bulb that says "check engine"

Re: For those of you that have done the v6-v8 swap

been a few years but when i did my swap all the wires that go through the fender on passenger side to the computer came out, all i needed were the wires coming from the drivers side by the steering colum.( starter, alt., lights, ect) there are good wiring diagrams here if you look, take the time to study them it will help.
