v6 - v8 wiring

maybe a stupid questions but is it possible to use all the sensors out of the v-6 and put them in the v8. I have autometer oil psi and temp gauges. If I keep the cpu functional and just remove the MIL bulb will the Fuel pump/ sending unit still function properly? I will be using a stock TH350 with 3.42 gears will the stock gauge/cable work with the TH350 with proper plastic gear installed? What gear would I need?

What year is your car? What induction are you planning on using on the V8?

www.tciauto.com has a gear calculator and p/n list in their tech section.

I'm still unclear about the ECM & fuel pump operation, mostly because I've never had to deal with it. From what I understand, if you leave it in there, and use an oil pressure switch, the fuel pump will work just fine. The other option is to rewire the pump relay so it works when the ignition switch is on. The fuel gage sender will continue to operate regardless.

You shouldn't need any other ECM sensors like coolant temp, manifold pressure, throttle position, etc. Your aftermarket gages would be installed like in any other application.

Glad to hear it arrived. Sorry I didn't have a chance to clean it up better.
