Swap 350 to LT1
What should I be expecting to change when swapping a 350 to LT1 as far as wiring harness, motor mounts, and any other hidden obstacle I might encounter. I want to make this transition as smooth as possible. So if you know of any tips, secrets and opinions please let me know. It will be valued highly.
Thanks

Ok here we go.....
If doing a/c start at 1, for easy swap and no a/c go to step 2.
1. Beat a dent into crossmember on passenger side to clear a/c compressor, modify passenger side mount to brace the back of a/c compressor, see www.hpsalvage.com for instructions on this, go to step 3.
2. Bolt unmodified stock engine mounts on, replace a/c compressor with 1LE a/c delete idler.
3. Bolt engine in place, with exhaust manifolds on engine already if being used, stock 3rd gen manifolds can be used but dont properly cover the D port LT1 heads, best idea is to use SLP 1 3/4 headers for 3rd gen, engine may be bolted in with or without transmission on it.
4. Install trans. if not already on engine, bolt y pipe on.
5. Bolt up crossmember and shifter, and driveshaft.
6. Begin wiring car, this is where it gets fun, use either a stock harness and modify or get an aftermarket swap harness, using 93 setup you will need a non vats chip or a bypass module, using a 94-95 ecm get the computer reprogrammed without vats.
7. Get custom power steering lines and fuel lines made, if with a/c then also lines for it.
8. Install radiator and condensor if so equipped, route coolant lines.
hope i covered it all. if not post, if i dont respond email me.
