Re: can someone help
Read / review / search the engine swap tech articles on this site. As with any engine and trans swap, you'll run into unanticipated issues that you'll have to deal with once you start the conversion. Generally, it's not a plug and play affair but it's very do-able if you have the time and patience to see it through.
If it were me, I'd sell the V6 car and purchase a new ride with the V8 already in it.. less down time and a whole lot less hassle.
Good luck

be sure to look into your states laws and regulations on motor swaps and emissions , every state has there own laws and every county in the state has different laws and exceptions with emissions .

Re: can someone help
He means state laws for emissions, if you have emissions testing you are opening a bigger can of worms by trying to keep it smog legal, some states will only let you swap motors out of newer vehicles, engines out of cars can only be use in cars, you can't use a truck engine etc etc.

Your best bet is to see if you can find another vehicle that has a motor and trans that is out of F-Body car. That way you can get the motor, trans, engine/body wiring harness, & ECM that will all work together rather than different parts from different vehicles. That said, I know that might be hard to do.
Can you tell us what setup you going after? 305 carb'd motor, auto trans? What gears do have in your rear now? You also have to think about the brackets for items such as PS, AC, as well as the exhaust setup.
Also need to look at the little things such as how is your tranny now shifting via floor mounted shifter or is it on the column? You'll need to get these parts as well. Also need to think if you want to convert to a manual trans from an auto if that is the way you want to go.
Recently I bought an '88 IROC with 305 TPI motor in it and got all I needed to do a swap like this. The car cost me $600 and was well worth the $$$ so I had all I needed. Check out Craigslist in your area. Sometimes you get lucky.
Let me know which way you are headed and I can help you as much as possible.
