Help 5.7 to transmission broken block
I'm not to sure what it is called but in the process of removing my 350 from a thirdgen I broke one of the bolt holes that connect the engine to automatic transmission I believe it is the bellhousing well on the block the top where the bolt would go into cracked off completely. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about or info on fixing is it possible to have it welded back or will it not be the same and would it be dumb to just leave it as is and rely on the other like 7 bolts?? Bellhousing is part of the case it can't be replaced without pulling the transmission apart and swapped to a new case/shell. Which is too much work if you ask me. I would just use the rest. Might be able gto weld but I doubt it since it's usually prone to cracking anyways.

80% of the so called gearheads never tighten that bolt to spec anyway. Hell they don't usually get three of them on top. They were put there for a reason non the less. I suggest you take it to a qualified welder and have it put back on or at least go to work with a file and some JB weld, that's why the guy invented it. Don't rush it use plenty of excess and let it cure, file and re-drill the bolt hole. I've seen the complete ear made from the stuff and I was amazed and thought why even try to bond the broken piece back on.
