how much fuel psi is needed for a tbi 350
i was going through recipts from the owner before me of my 82 firebird and found out when he replaced the fuel pump he replaced it with a fuel pump from a 87 firebird as it says on the recipt which is a airtex e3240 and looking at the specs on it is has way more psi than needed for the 2.5 already installed
i always wanted to swap a tbi 350 from my grandfathers 91 cadi but it seemed like it was going to be too much work for me but if the fuel pump is already done depending on much psi is needed
if anyone knows im a semi car noob especailly with efi vechiles

TBI systems normally operate around 9 psi but can be bumped up to 12-13. Going much higher than that risks locking the injectors.

A pump required for a TPI system will require a regulator to bring the pressure down for the TBI system.

As he said, just use a return line regulator.I recently call to complain to Delco tech that their pump rating wasn't what it once was matching O.E.M. spec for a CPI.The part number was right, but the spec wasn't for pressure.I was told by Delco tech the pressure isn't important, but the volume is.It is the reason why some of the in line pumps with the correct pressure don't work well because they don't have the volume.
