305TBI to 350 carb 89 firebird
I keep reading conflicting points on removal of the ecm and its wire harness. I'm running the electric in tank stock fuel pump with the regulater. My question is this.....some say you can remove the entire ecm wire harness, some say no?! I dont see how its possible to remove it with out cutting wires?? I have the harness unbolted from the junction on the driver side, but how do you remove without cutting wires? I was hoping to get rid of all the needless wire, relays and such? PLEASE help, and THANK YOU!

remove the plastic in the wheel well. you will have better access. Dissconnect the ecm and pull the wires from the ecm out thru the access panel inside the fender. Then up and thru the engine compartment.

Thanks. I do understand that part, but, do you have to unravel that entire harness and then cut the wires at the junction on the drivers side? What will operate the fuel pump??

From what I have read, the harness on the passenger side is all for the TPI and can be removed. My brother has rewired entire cars, I will most likely have him go thru mine as well. I removed a 305tpi, putting in a 350 carb'ed.
