Question about a swap

Question about a swap
I currently have a 91 camaro rs that either has a 305 or 350(seller said 350, but we all know how that is...) anyway i was wondering, this engine seems to be on its way out, but we have a truck with an LM7 in it, would we be able to make this fit with ease like a 305 to 350 swap, or would it be a pain? From what I understand it would be like an LS swap, but I don't really know much. Any advice would be helpful, but keep in mind i am on a budget and in college.
Also, this is my daily driver currently, so i want something with a little power but also not too terrible on MPG. Last. would my stock transmission be able to handle this? Its the automatic with overdrive.

Re: Question about a swap
It's somewhere in between "ease" and "a pain". Not really quite either one.
Best way to use a 5.3 would be with the 4L60E that's behind it; since the computer that comes with it is expecting to work that and get inputs from it. Yes you're right it's like an LS swap, because it IS an LS swap.
We're all "on a budget". No sense beating us over the head about that. We're not STOOOOPID here (well, some of us aren't, anyway; not too sure about myself though) so we're not going to tell you that you have to go out and buy stuff made out of diamond-plated pure nonobtanium / irreplacium alloy and send it to Europe and the Far East for post-processing. But in reality, things cost what they cost; ya wanna play, ya gotta pay. That's just The Way It Is. Either you want it or you don't, and if you do, you'll do what it takes to come up with it; and if you don't want it that bad, well then, ... you do the math.
If you already have the 5.3/4L60E, you'll need mounts, accessories (the truck ones won't fit under your hood - the Vette setup is said to be best because the F-body one puts the AC somewhere incompatible), a F-body oil pan, and something about the torque arm and all that. Should take WELL under $2000, besides the pull-out, to get it done.

Re: Question about a swap
Yeah I haven't owned the car very long, but it had always worked until about 4 days ago, and I looked at where the relays are, one of them looks new, the other has some sort of paperclip or something in it, not sure if this is the correct one since there are two that look the same, but they aren't bolted to the car just sitting there. Could the paperclip thing be my problem? and whats the other relay for?

Transmission: 4L60E
Axle/Gears: Stock for now...
Re: Question about a swap
More info on what the problem is would be helpful to diagnose if the paper clip piece is the problem (probably isn't all of it).
