You might want to check out LS1.com they have a ton of great info... It is not hard to get 400hp... I have a few friends running over 425 RWHP with heads and cam.

I am pretty sure that you can get over 400 with nothing but a computer mod

LS1s are easy. I'm sure by now you know that all LS1s are the same. Whether from a Z28 or a C5 all LS1s are generally rated as making 360hp judging by dyno #s. You want 400+ hp?

Few suggestions......
Longtubes
Ram Air
smooth tubes
iat relocate
160 T-stat and run more timing
1.8 rockers
if you can't afford heads, a cam will still do nicely!

nope. just the C5-R race car has a 7.0L racing LS1 engine.

as for 400RWHP, LS6 heads or ported LS1 heads, LS1 hot cam, full exaust, Vortec truck intake if it will fit under the 3rdgen hood. It should considering how tall TPIs were.
