2)did u use your powersteering pump or did u use one off the LS1 engine?
3)how hard was thhe swap?

I've seen one in person, haven't done it myself. You will need all the accessories and brackets off the LS1 as the thirdgen parts will NOT work. They won't bolt on. So yes you'll need the LS1 power steering pump. The driveshaft you can reuse.
How hard is the swap? Well if it's your first motor swap, I woulda chose a simpler task, lol. You have to fabricate your own transmission mount, and your own motor mounts as no one makes a "kit" to bolt this motor in. You might have to massage the tranny tunnel to fit in a newer style 4L60-E, but i'm not sure (I don't see why you'd have to but whatever). Another problem is that none of your currebt guages in your car will work. Thirdgen guages are driven by a pulse, and LS1 sensors use a sine wave that's not compatible with your guages. So you'd have to get all new sensors (probably out of a 4th gen LS1 car) or hook up mechanical guages. The computer you will have to hack up the wiring harness, and then prepare for it to throw about 10 codes. The OBD-II is very sensitive to anything not being there or not working right. You'll need to drill 4 holes for 4 different O2 sensors, and fabricate your exhaust through the Y-pipe. You'll need to make your own fueal lines, and most likely power steering hoses. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe someone else with chime in with more experience, but I don't think there's much people with mush experience. Good Luck and keep us updated. We want to see someone else accomplish this :-).

P.S. - I've noticed you're coming off of a V6 chassis. Now you'll have to change your radiator over (I think, but maybe not) and switch your brake lines to V8 ones. Since you're changing everything over (the LS1 swap) you won't have to do too much more in getting the car prepped for a V8. Good Luck again!

LS1 swap you say? Do a search for LS1on this board and/or follow these links:

1) I ordered a custom driveshaft bacause I didnt want to trust an old rusty one with the new engine......with an additional 100 HP over the L98
2)LS1 steering pump, use the proper fittings and use stainless braided line, that will last forever instead of blowing out the factory junk hoses all the time.
3)This was my first swap, I didn't think it was that difficult, just on the expensive side.

I have lots of pictures on my website and a good explanation of how I did it.

I will be updating my website soon with new pics of this winters mods
