Hedman headers and y-pipe for $200, any good?

Jegs has hedman# 68470 headers and ypipe# 17470, both for $98.00. The headers are 3" output, my question is about the y-pipe. I'm assuming it is also 3" output. Can anyone verifiy.

I'm planning to run these headers in to a yet to be determined 3" hi-flow cat and 3" single catback with dual outs. Any reccomendations here?

Also, any commnets on these headers. Quality of construction/fit/performance etc. I realise they are not SLPs, but they are much more in my price range.

I had ordered those originally. When they came the headers themselves looked great, but the Y-pipe was only 2.5 inches where it went into the cat. I could have had an exhaust shop take care of this, but I was leary about cutting on a new product. So I sent them back, and got some TES's. I really liked them. I now have the heddman full lengths, and a custom Y-pipe. I have $250 in the whole setup.

That is what we got for our 82 Z28. The headers are great but the Y-pipe leaves much to be desired. after we put the motor in and got hte headers bolted up we could not get the y-pipe to bolt up. After I got to looking at the y-pipe I found out it was 2 1/4" pipe from the headers into a 2 1/2" pipe to the cat (or in our case where the cat is supposed to be...lol). We ended up taking it up to the exhaust shop and having a custom Y-pipe made that is 2 1/2" off of the headers in to a 3 1/2" pipe to the offroad pipe (that is 3") and that is conected to the MAC cat back that is 3" the rest of the way back. the system as a whole sounds awsome and we are VERY happy with it !!!!

82 Z28 with 350.motor has .030 forged flat top pistions other wise stock bottom end, Summit 214/224 cam with 1.6 Harland Sharp roller rockers, stock 882 heads for now (will be getting a set of the 23 degree Trick Flows this summer), Performer RPM intake, Holley 750 Vacuum secondary, Th350 with 2200 converter, stock 3.23 geared rearend for now (getting 9" later on), Headman shorty headers, custom 2.5" into 3.5" Y pipe into M.A.C. offroad pipe and M.A.C. cat back system. So far car has only been to the track twice and is having sever traction problems but is running 60'-2.34 1/8 mile-9.2 @ 79 MPH.
