Hooker 2055s cat question

I just put the hooker 2055s on with the 3 inch y pipe. I know i need to get a 3 inch cat but im having problems with what to do from the my magnaflow 3 inch cat back to the cat. right now i have a reducer from 3 inch to like 2 1/4 that would fit the stock type y pipe that i had on it before. Would this work http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...l?v=1&pid=2220
or

Cut the reducer off. Anyone who has purchased a cat-back specific for their TBI/LG4 305 car will have a reducer so that the cat back can be used with the stock cat. When you go with a true 3" you want to cut that off. That is why we recommend getting a TPI set-up if you are going to replace the whole exhaust at once. No reducers that way. I cut my reducer off of my cat-back when I put heddres on a few years later.
