To EFE or not?
I'm installing Edelbrock TES (for TPI) on my carbed (LG4) 305. Do I have to re-install the EFE valve or can I leave it out? Thanks.

Does that mean that I need it to pass emmisions? Will the headers/Y-pipe fit without it? Thanks.

From what I understand (and I don't have TES):
The LG4-specific TES require the reinstallation of the EFE in order to get the y-pipe connected to the headers.
The TPI-application TES do no use the EFE, and trying to install the valve would require modifying the supplied y-pipe.
As for emissions, the only place that I've heard will squawk no-EFE valve is California. Here, where they have a pretty strict inspection and sniffer, they didn't say anything about it not being there. They looked it over pretty thoroughly, including the underhood vacuum stickers, then gave it a "pass".
I've never heard that Maryland is that strict about inspection. But, you'd be better served checking that out before trying. Well, maybe try going through w/o the valve first, then putting it in if they fail you.
FWIW, the Chevy High Performance magazine project series, "My Generation Camaro", found the LG4 EFE valve was a major restriction to the TES. They never figured out the L69 valve is a better choice.
