4" tips don't look so bad actually, if they're slash cut and dual exit.
A quality cat-back will run you from 250-400. If you're looking for REALLY good quality, expect to spend $600 used, up to $800 new.

Axle/Gears: Ford 9" 3.70
I spent $600 canadian for a custom headers back 3" chambered system. Atleast this way if something happens I just take it to him, rather then messing around with clamps and my crappy welder
