Hedman? Who to believe??????? LOL!

Ok guys here's the situation. I have spent the last 4 hours reading every forum on Hedman Hedders. I mean EVERY post on this site. how much more confusing can this get? LOL.

92 Firebird with a recent swap to 350 TBI. 68470 hedders and 17470 y pipe? Correct? Will fit my application? it's a 50/50 call on this site whether these part numbers work or not work. Either it will work without a problem or not.

I called hedman and got the answer "well, it may fit your application directly, but it also may need some modification as well" LOL!!! Gotta love it. It might work perfect, but maybe not!!! LMAO. Cant get a definitive answer from anyone.

You guys have been awesome on this site with my recent upgrade from a 305 tbi to 350 tbi. I would love some more accurate input if you will.

Thanks so much for all your help!

Dimensionally, the 350 is the same as the 305, so the headers listed for your car and year should work. But...

There are plenty of examples of headers that are supposed to fit something that just don't fit, even with the original engine. I usually attribute this to production "tolerances" of both the car and the headers. You might have problems, you might not. Either way, unless you have Gen 3 or some kind of trick raised-port heads, the headers will fit the 350 as well as they would have fit the 305, which SHOULD be OK. But bring a hammer and a box of cuss-words to use on them just in case...

Those headers and Y-pipe fit nicely on my 350-powered Z28.

Car: 1985 IROC
Engine: 350 TPI (block was swapped)
Transmission: 700r4 w/corvette servo
Axle/Gears: no idea
Be carefull.. I swapped a 350 for a 350. Now I cant attach the headers to my exhuast ports because the oil pan I used is too big, the y-pipe doesnt fit.. 300 dollars later and a modified y-pipe and ill have my car running.

*edit*
I have headmen headers, I dont know what kind, shortys im assuming.. they came with the car when I bought it.

But your problem was from using a different oil pan, not from going to a 350" motor.
