Dynatech Cone Insert
For some background information, I'm running Hooker Super Comps, Mufflex 4" into a Flowmaster Muffler all sitting behind a 406.
I just did not like the sound of the exhaust at light throttle and part throttle acceleration. It sort of had a rattle to it. Not muscle sounding at all. At full throttle it has a Nascar type sound. Loud higher pitched. Pretty good actually. Over the weekend I installed a Dynatech 4" cone into the intermediate pipe infront of the rear axle. It made a difference to the sound at part and light throttle without seeming to effect the full throttle sound. It still has somewhat of an annoying sound but not quite as much.
As far as power loss, it's difficult to tell without dragstrip or dyno testing. I'm now thinking about pulling the Flowmaster and installing a Dynatech Split Flow 4" muffler.
