Which cars exhaust interchanges?

Im gonna pull a y pipe and manfiolds from the junkyard so that I can take my 87 v6->350 swap to a muffler shop and get duals. What cars manifolds and y-pipe will fit? An 85 caprice's was way of.

'82-'90 Camaro and Firebird V8's.

The "best" are the L69, LB9 (except '91-'92 single cat), and L98 systems.

So an 88 trans am gta will fit my 87 v6-> 350 swap? I found a guy selling a whole system for 100 bucks. Headers to muffler.

This is off subject kinda, but I noticed somthing the other day. Ford Tauras SHO's have the same transverse flow muffler as thirdgens do. Weird...

Re: Which cars exhaust interchanges?

If you're just going to bolt duals to them... just get a set of HEdman 68460 long tubes headers. Less than $150 brand new. I got a second hand never used set for $100.

I understand working on a budget, but I just wanted you to know how cheap these headers are. And they're good!

Re: Which cars exhaust interchanges?

And the GMMG exhaust costs like, $900, and is only a catback, and it's for a stock style single, not true dual like he wants. He's only putting stock stuff on so he can drive the car to the shop to get the exhaust work done.

But yea. Any V8 exhaust from a 82-90 thirdgen will work fine for you. Especiallly if it's not for the long term.

I thought about that too, from the way he worded it, it was pretty ambiguous. But they're not going to fab up headers for him, so either he already has headers or he is going to do duals with the manifolds. So I say, if he already has headers, why not just cruise out there with open headers?

Re: Which cars exhaust interchanges?

I know what you meant, I was mostly talking to the dude that suggested GMMG.

I can only figure that he might not run those Hedmans because there is some way he might be fined for just running open headers. Or something. Other than that, it's an idea.

I have manifolds from a 70's sbc as well as cheapo-ebay headers that I'll be using, just havnt installed them. Open headers is just asking for a ticket

Just manifolds and y-pipe aren't exactly quiet.

I'd just enjoy the open headers for a few miles! You can't just tell the cop you're on your way to the exhaust shop?
