Tempory replacement pipe for cat?
I have a cat that is clogged and aint going to have the spare money to fix it for a while and I need an easy fix for it. I am going to go see if it is welded or bolted in so I might be able to just gut the cat myself until I can do better. But I am pretty sure its welded in so my question is are there any way of cutting the cat out and bolting a replacement pipe in its place. I don't have the money to get an exhaust shop to do this so I am just trying to think of some DIY alternatives.
Also right now I can't afford to get a high flow cat so that's not an option right yet and I can't go that long with a gutted cat.

Re: Tempory replacement pipe for cat?
if the cat is welded in and you cut it out you still have nothing to bolt a pipe to. if you have a welder you can get some flanges and weld them on the exsiting exhaust and replacement pipe (on both ends of the pipe) or else you need to weld in a new cat (which is what i would do cause then you gotta cut out the flanges you just welded in and then weld in the cat or weld flanges on the cat then bolt it up, but then you gotta get exhaust gaskets) so imho i would just save up for a new cat.
