I want a deeper sound from my Hooker Cat-Back (glasspack or CatConv)

I have a 3" Hooker SuperComp Catback on my 305. I have Flowtech headers and 2.5' Y-pipe, and no cat.

I want to get a lower tone out of it. Should I go for A glasspack in place of the testpipe, a highflow cat, or a dynomax ultraflo straight threw muffler???

I want to go from 2.5" y-pipe to 3" Cat or GlassPack

Like how about this Catalytic Converter. Magnaflow 3" high flow. Cheap.

WILL I LOSE ANY POWER FROM THISS????

Re: I want a deeper sound from my Hooker Cat-Back (glasspack or CatConv)

The deep tone generally comes from not having any or, very little pipe after the muffler outlet. The biggest con is usually the resonance inside the car is horrible and can get very annoying (opinion).

I ended up changing the the way my exhaust was setup on my 'bird over this very issue. The deep tone was way to much on decel and obnoxious in general just for driving around. On a DD, I would imagine having to listen to it every day would put one on the brink of sanity (opinion again).

Re: I want a deeper sound from my Hooker Cat-Back (glasspack or CatConv)

My tone deepened some and changed(hard to explain)when I went from flowtech headers and y to 2460 hookers and custom 2.5"y to 3" i pipe.I didnt think the header and y change would make a diff. in sound but it did.
